Where did the alliance system start?

The alliance system in Europe began to take shape in the late 19th century, primarily with the formation of the Triple Alliance in 1882, which included Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. This was countered by the formation of the Triple Entente in 1907, comprising France, Russia, and Britain.
