What do southwestern quail eat?

All quail are seed and insect eaters.The bulk of the diet is seeds .Quail move about during the day in groups called coveys,constantly on the search for food.When danger threatens,quail may form a circle,with heads pointed out,until the danger has passed.Sometimes,they will eat berries if seed is not readily available.
