Sever Antifreeze leaking with no apparent exit but saturating the entire area by overflow causing smoking and over heating in a 91 caviler Z24 any ideas on where the leak may be or if fixable?

Do this...Be sure the coolant is 50/50 and full...be sure to burp the air from the system by leaving cap off until the air comes out then put cap on,,,when the engine goes cold again it will suck coolant so refill before starting. When you are sure the system is full,start the engine, stand there and watch where it comes out,it should only take a few mins. If the radiator cooling fan comes on and spins quickly and it comes out the overflow tube get a new cap. The cap is not holding the proper pressure. Dont drive it hot,the head will crack or even worse !!! If that dont fix it, think about the water pump, clogged radiator or a bad head gasket. But you must see where it leaks at...good luck
