How do you write an interesting hypothesis?

A hypothesis is interesting when it is plausible. If you are well informed about the situation for which some hypothesis is needed, then you have a chance of coming up with a believable hypothesis.

A very implausible hypothesis might be funny, but it would not really be an interesting hypothesis, insofar as it would be immediately dismissed other than as a subject of comedy.
