HOW TO COOK MEALIE RICE?

To cook mealie rice, first rinse the rice under cold water to remove excess starch. In a pot, combine the rice with water in a ratio of about 1 part rice to 2 parts water, adding a pinch of salt if desired. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender. Fluff with a fork before serving.
