Who told the disciples that Jesus had risen?

A:The first gospel to be written was Mark's Gospel, which originally ended at verse 16:8with the young man telling the women that Jesus was risen and they fled in terror, telling no one. There were no appearances of the risen Jesus and, if the women told no one, they could never have known, simply waiting for his return on clouds of glory as promised in chapter 13.

The 'Long Ending' (verses 16:9-20) was added much later to Mark's Gospel. Here, Jesus appeared to "two of them" and they went and told the others (Mark 16:12-13) but the others did not believe.

In Matthew's Gospel, the next to be written, It was Mary Magdalene and the other Mary who told the disciples that Jesus was risen.

In Luke's Gospel,

Mary Magdalene, Joanna, another Maryand other women ran to tell the disciples, but the disciples thought they were idle tales.

In John's Gospel,Mary Magdalene went to the tomb but returned to tell the disciples when she saw the stone had been moved, without looking inside. Peter and the 'disciple whom Jesus loved' went and found the tomb empty, but there is no mention of them telling this to the other disciples. Later,Mary Magdalene met Jesus in the garden and told this to the disciples.
