Why did the British Conservative Party oppose the abolision of slavery giving women the vote the introduction of the National Health Service and the minimum wage?

Because they are the Party of the land owners, bosses and vested interests. They exist to bleed the workers dry and maintain a guilded life for the few.

There speaks a true Marxist. I don't think the Conservative Party - which these days has many "workers" however you define them, as members &/or voters - existed when Britain abolished commercial slavery - the first country in the world to do so even though once thriving on the trade. The UK now is doing all it can to abolish modern slavery, although as a lot of this takes place at domestic level it can be very hard to detect.
