How long do you have before your license plates expire?

Licence expiration is dependant on the country and within the United States of America, dependant on the State.

Licence plates in the United Kingdom, for example, do not have an expiry date, staying with the vehicle from first sale until the car is scrapped even if the owner changes.

Most US States require the licence to be validated every year, although some only require validation every two years. Most states issue a sticker, to be attached either to the plate or to the inside of the windscreen with the licence expiry date.
