Who helped design and build the first cotton gin in MS?

The first cotton gin in Mississippi was designed and built by Eli Whitney in 1793. Although Whitney is often credited with the invention, he actually created the cotton gin while working in Georgia. The design he developed revolutionized the cotton industry by significantly speeding up the process of separating cotton fibers from seeds.
