In what country did World War 1 begin?

World War I was a war that began in 1914 as a result of the assassination of the Archduke of Austria, Franz Ferdinand, by a Bosnian revolutionary group and Gavrilo Princip. This led Austro-Hungarian troops to invade Serbia and attack Sarajevo, where the war started. Following this, German forces from the north invaded portions of Western Europe, including France, Luxembourg, and Belgium. Many European countries at this time had border skirmishes, assassinations and global arms weaponry races between other countries that largely contributed to the instability of Europe at this time.
