When did John Bede Polding come to Australia?

John Bede Polding arrived in Australia on 24th January 1835. He was the first Catholic bishop of Sydney and played a significant role in establishing the Catholic Church in Australia. Polding worked to promote education and social welfare throughout his ministry.
