Can you get a viscacha as a pet?

Would have to live outside like every other rabbit. Two problems: 1) the hawks. If a hawk will eat a rabbit, a chipmunk, a squirrel, a field mouse, it would definitely make a meal of a viscacha. 2) Winter. What's it going to do when it's 10 degrees and five inches of snow? Hibernate? Bring it inside until spring?
