The different forms of literature ARE: nonfiction, usually in the form of essays, which can be critiques on any subject: social, political, historical, psychological, or philosophical; or of literature itself. There is fiction in the form of the novel and the short story. There is poetry: lyrical or narrative; and there is drama: tragedy, tragicomedy, comedy, melodrama, satire, and farce.
