Why student hate poems?

i think students hate poems coz they arent well explained by the teacher........not well elaborated. if taught properly line by line then giudes arent necessary. we will know them by ourselves. thats is the main reason. also the languages in some poems are unfimiliar and so are tough to comprehend.
