In what zoo was Smokey Bear sent to?

The orphaned bear, rescued after a forest fire in New Mexico's Lincoln National Forest in 1950, was moved to the Smithsonian's National Zoo in Washington DC, after receiving treatment for his burns in Santa Fe. Smokey Bear was so popular that in April of 1964, he was given his own zipcode, to help handle all the mail he received. Santa Claus was the only figure, more popular at the time.
