Horses need forage (depending on where you live)grass works in the summer but horses like an occasional bit of hay or they can get diarrhea and need hay in the winter, also if you check at your local feed store Purina horse feed is great and has lots of different kinds that specialize in seniors, juniors, pleasure horses and etc.And my personal preference for horses to live in is a good barn with sturdy stalls but a lean-to that's opening facing south works too=)
AnswerIt is best for a horse to be left outside 24/7 and just give them a little lean-to that they could use for shelter if they wanted to. Horses can stand more than 30 degrees colder than we can because of their fur, but horses that are clipped must wear a blanket in winter because by clipping the horse for your selfish wants, you take away his way of keeping himself warm. Also, if your horse wears shoes, people tend to keep them in stalls because in a pasture the horse may pull his shoe on accident.Copyright © 2026 eLLeNow.com All Rights Reserved.
