Supermarkets use the barcode reader(laser scanners).the objective is to improve service and increase productivity.The scanning system uses a laser beam to read the barcode on the goods. The bars contain the imformation as the numeric code at the bottom of the barcode.As the barcode passes across the scanner this number is read and price and description of goods are obtained from the computer, the sale is registered and item reciept is produced.By Hamza Umar :p
