Is there a difference between shaminisim and wicca?

Wiccans tend to practice for themselves or in small groups, using their power to effect their own circle of influence. As they should always have the knowledge and consent of the ones they are working for, their sphere of influence is necessarily small. You will see solitary practitioners working for themselves, their families and friends and occasionally for the planet. Groups of Wiccans work for the benefit of the group their friends and families and on occasion the planet. The equation is one or a small number working for a small number.

Shamans tend to work for a community as a whole and the entire planet in general, undertaking spirit journeys and petitioning the gods and spirits on behalf of their community, or for the benefit of the whole world. The equation is always one working for one, several or all.
