Sugar gliders can glide distances of up to 50 meters (about 165 feet) or more in a single leap. Their gliding ability is aided by their patagium, a membrane that stretches from their wrists to their ankles, allowing them to soar gracefully between trees. This adaptation helps them navigate their arboreal habitat in search of food and to escape predators.
