What is a school of thought in Philosophy?

Socrates is considered to be an original thinker whose ideas and logic were lucidated, lightened, explained, strengthened or propagated by various direct and indirect disciples through various generations such as Plato, Atistotle, Alexander and Anaximander. A strain and vein of common thought, ideas and logic passes through them all. So they are generally termed in philosophy as A School Of Thought. It should be noted here that a school is an assembly of teachers and a class is an assembly of learners.
