What are the pros and cons of bold ruler in secretariat?

Bold Ruler was known as a "speed horse", who often passed on his blazing speed to his offspring. On the flip side however, many of his progeny were fast, but could not hold up in distances over a mile and a quarter. Secretariat got his staying power and stamina from his grandsire, Princequillo.
