Why isn't the 6th generation Celica GT4 legal in the US?

Japanese auto makers do not make them for the US because they fail to meet the DOT standards. The cars that they do release in the US are DOT approved. Cars in Asia are very diffrent than in the US not in relation to size or motors or what not but wheight. They do not build there cars to stand crashes like the US auto makes do.
