The theorem is a2+b2=c2

To explain, the legs of a triangle are labeled with a and b, but it doesn't matter which leg is labeled with which letter. The hypotenuse is always labeled with c.

The theorem is that the sum of the two leg lengths squared is the square of the hypotenuse.
