Did god turn nebucanesser into a were beast?

In the biblical account found in the Book of Daniel, King Nebuchadnezzar is not turned into a "were beast," but rather is struck with a form of madness that causes him to behave like an animal. This punishment is a consequence of his pride and failure to acknowledge God's sovereignty. He is said to eat grass like an ox and live in the wild until he recognizes God's authority. After this period, he is restored to his kingdom and sanity.
