What approach to link-building have you had most success?

I think that either offering free content to related sites & blogs (containing a link to your site, of course) is a great way to build high quality links that have a positive affect on your rankings. I also am a big fan of a service called LotusJump - it's a web-based software that will provide a huge list of places where you can go to build relevant backlinks for your site.
