HoW to not wipe a memory card clean after downloading pictures?

The best way to copy your pictures without deleting them from your memory card is to use Windows Explorer and follow these steps:

1. Open up your memory card and then select and highlight all the pictures you want to transfer to another location.

2. Right click in a highlighted location.

3. In the drop down window, select "copy".

4. Find the location where you want to transfer the pictures.

5. Right click on the location name (directory)

6. Select "paste".

Another way is to, again, use Windows Explorer:

1. Find or create the location where you want to transfer the pictures and click on it to open.

2. Without closing up the destination directory, open up your memory card and select and highlight all the pictures you want to copy.

3. Make sure your cursor is hovering over the highlighted area, and depress and hold down the left click feature on your mouse.

4. Drag and drop the pictures in the location where you want them copied.

5. If asked to "copy" or "move", select "copy".

Either one of these Windows Explorer functions will retain your original pictures on your memory card while making exact copies in a new location.
