What type of prayer is apostles creed?

It is a profession of faith. It gives some of the key components of the faith of those that say it.

It is not a prayer, it is a statement of an agreed to orthodox dogma at the common core of the Christian Religion (regardless of sect). When you say it, it reminds you of those core dogma. It is not addressed to God as a prayer is, but to yourself and the other members of the church. It is more like an oath that you agree with and will be held to all aspects of that common dogma.
