How good is the diploma?

It depends on what diploma you're talking about, and how it relates to your chosen field. For instance: If you have a Communications Degree and are trying to get a job that isn't at a Public Relations firm or tv/radio station - it's worthless. Inter-disciplinary Studies degree - worthless anywhere. Engineering/Science degrees - good things to have.
