Why did the girl in Chinese Cinderella have to move boarding schools?

Her step mum didn't like her because once the girl (Adeline) ordered the step mum to stop hitting her younger step sister. After that, the step mum tried to get her into trouble. Adeline went to a birthday party without permission and got caught and she had money on her which they thought she tole so they sent her to boarding school.
