What should we do to protect our environment?

Protecting Mother EarthHave community meetings about awareness. Have cleanups in waterways. See if you county has a Agricultural Extension Service or a 4H group they have wonderful programs for people to pitch in the community and teach children the value of the environment and how to help. Look in your local phone book or ask your Chamber of Commerce. You should have a local community center where you and others can have meetings for free with the countys permission of course. If you live near a beach, have a beach clean up. I wouldn't suggest children to do roadway clean ups, that should be left to the adults but the children with adult supervision can surely do neighborhood cleanups, see if Walmart or someother stores will donate garbage bags and have everyone with a wagon or wheelbarrel join in. Have the local law enforcement give a seminar on community awareness, there is always a officer willing to talk with the kids about being safe and knowing your surroundings. There is always so much to do in a community but unfortunately the numbers are dwindling with involvement because people think their lives are too busy to donate an hour or two a week to pitch in. Soon if people like you and I disappear so will the beautiful land we have and animals we see disappear too. Talk to everyone you know and ask them to tell people too.The local paper should be happy to print an event for you for free, good for business if people know they chipped in too.
