Why should you not wear flipflops at school?

Teachers say it's cuz it can have the domino effect. Someone accidentally steps on the back of some one else's flip flop and they fall, knocking some one else over, who knocks some one else over, who knocks some one else over and so on and so on. Knda far-fetched in my opinion.
