Key people in Exodus

The primary focus was on a people that was called Israel, descendants of Jacob's twelve sons, ergo, the twelve tribes. These were a people chosen out of all the people on the earth, fulfilling God's covenant with Abraham to become a large nation and a blessing to all peoples. Israel was the church in the wilderness
