First gas powered motorcycle

The first motorcycle was made in the US by Sylvester Howard Roper (1823-1896), who invented a two-cylinder, steam-engine motorcycle (powered by coal) in 1867.

Or - in terms of the internal combustion engine, the first motorcycle was made by Gottlieb Daimler, who in 1885, attached an engine to a wooden bike.
