What was the name of the place where colossus was created?

The Colossus of Rhodes was created on the island of Rhodes, Greece. It was built between 292 and 280 BC to celebrate the island's victory over Cyprus and to honor the sun god HeliOS. This enormous statue stood at the entrance of the harbor and was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
