Sperm ducts are also commonly known as the vas deferens. Males have two of these ducts, which connect the testes to the urethra.
Semen
The first purpose of the sperm ducts is to allow sperm produced in the testes to enter the seminal fluid.
Ejaculation
The second purpose of the sperm ducts is to carry the semen and sperm to the urethra, where this fluid will be expelled during ejaculation.
Complications
Men may be born with blocked sperm ducts or without sperm ducts at all. The ducts may also be damaged due to injury.
Vasectomy
When a man gets a vasectomy, the vas deferens are blocked, severed, and seared closed to prevent sperm from entering the semen. Though a man will still be able to ejaculate after having a vasectomy, he will no longer be able to father children.
