What is aleister crowley known for Is he a satanist Or was he a an atheist with a belief in gods?

...The reason why Mr Crowley was a Satanist , is because he would not cease from such methodology that perhaps could possibly bring him into contact with Satan. Aetheism itself is also in denial of super-natural phenomenon , such as that which is attributed to Gods .Ergo Mr Crowley could not be an aetheist , people use the term "occultist" to describe Mr Crowley , which infers a person who practises or believes in "witch craft" , "black magic" , "rituals & sacrifice" , this stereotype is further reinforced , because of Mr Crowleys homosexuality , louche morale living etc ...

But in reality the Word "occult" that we associate with witchcraft & evil , is a harmless old French Word "occulere" it means hidden .
