What happens to the particles in snow as it melts?

the snow is changinggg state,,, from a solid to a liquid so the particles are spreadingg furtherr apart from each other and the particles will lose all the kinetic energy(movement) cos of the cold conditions :S hope thiss iss some help to youu :D
