How much light is there in the trench zone?

The trench zone, typically referring to deep ocean trenches, is characterized by extremely low light levels. As depth increases, sunlight diminishes rapidly, with most light unable to penetrate beyond about 200 meters. In the abyssal zone, where trenches are located, there is essentially no light, leading to complete darkness. As a result, organisms in this environment rely on other sources of energy, such as chemosynthesis, rather than photosynthesis.
