Did Dougie Poynter from mcfly have a good childhood?

He was quite shy over his childhood. He has stated that he didnt enjoy seniour school, due to the fact of not having many friends. He had a different style, some may call in emo. Similar to the style during the Wonderland, especaily the " I wanna hold you" video. He had a nickname from most of the kids at school, " Grunger" due to his socail rebelious fashion and activity sense. He collected and bred lizards, also grabbing him the name " Lizard King." His dad was a part of his life until Dougie reached 15, when his dad abandoned the family 3 weeks before Dougie auditioned for Mcfly. Dougies father left a note on the Kitchen table and left the family that night. Dougie has stated the most of his shyness at the start of the band was due to his fathers abandonment. Dougie has not had ANY contact with his father since he left almost 8 years ago.This is all true information taken from interivews where Dougie has revealed information about himself and his past.
