Actually a zombie has origins in real events. A zombie is suppose to be a dead body brought back to life. In the Caribbean in areas where voodoo was common certain people were 'poisoned' with the flesh of the puffer fish which would render them paralyzed. This would lead others to believe they were dead. When the toxin wore off they would 'come back to life'. This concept has been greatly exaggerated by Horror stories and Hollywood.
