Where is the mast on forklifte?

The mast of a (standard) forklift is in front. It allows the forks to be lifted and lowered when under load. There are forward reach types, with or without side-shift, so because of the many types available, there is no definitive answer. In a wood-yard, the forklifts may be to the side, so helping the driver to pick up bulk loads of planks.
