How many people survied on D-Day?

On D-Day, June 6, 1944, approximately 156,000 Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy, France. While exact numbers vary, it is estimated that around 10,000 Allied soldiers were killed, wounded, or missing on that day. Despite the heavy casualties, the operation was a crucial success, enabling the Allies to establish a foothold in Europe. The vast majority of the troops, however, did survive the initial landings, contributing to the eventual liberation of Western Europe from Nazi control.
