What are the qualifications to be a member of each house of the Georgia General Assembly?

To be a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, a candidate must be at least 21 years old, a U.S. citizen, and a resident of Georgia for at least two years, as well as a resident of the district they wish to represent for at least one year prior to the election. For the Georgia Senate, candidates must be at least 25 years old, a U.S. citizen, a resident of Georgia for at least two years, and a resident of their district for at least one year before the election. Both houses require candidates to be registered voters in the state.
