How do you get to Astoria New York from Penn Station NY?

Take the Uptown 1-2-3 (the red line), 1 stop, from 34th Street-Penn Station to 42nd Street-Times Square.

Transfer at Times Square to the Uptown N or Qtrains (of the N-R-Q-W, the yellow line). The last few stops on the N and Q are in Astoria (39th Avenue, 36th Avenue, Broadway, 30th Avenue, Astoria Boulevard and Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard).

Note that on late nights and weekends, the Q train terminates at 57th Street in Manhattan, so if you're traveling late at night (11 PM to 7 AM) or on the weekend, you have to take the N.
