Are slingshots allowed on Boy Scout camp outs?

Slingshots fall under the rules of "shooting sports" and the BSA has specific guidelines for their use similar to those for Archery and rifles. A scout would not be allowed to possess one on his own and use it will. The camp could, however, set up a supervised range.
