The challenges this presents might, by some, be considered as almost insurmountable! However, you slice it, this is going to be jolly expensive and time consuming.

The first obstacle you face is determining the route you will be taking. You will be required to qualify your pussycat for each country you transit enroute. It will be far far less costly and time consuming to arrange for commercial air-transportation for moggie to avoid this nightmare.

1) Kitty will need to first be kitty-chipped. This is the first step before you can take the next step.

2) Now it's time for Kitty-Vacs. After you've had moggie kitty-chipped, then a vaccination for rabies will be required. Even if Le Cat has been vaccinated previously, it must be done again and documented through the veterinarian.

3) Kitty-Blood. Following the vaccination, Le Chat will require having its blood tested to ensure that the vaccine has given it a satisfactory level of protection from rabies. The blood test must be taken at least 30 days after the rabies vaccination.

4) Doing Bird: Kitty cat will now need to wait three months from the date your Vet took the blood sample which demonstrated a satisfactory result. If you've had kitty on tour with you and already has a certificate, issued within the EU, the fortunately for you and your furry friend, you will not need to wait this extended period. Your existing EU Pet Passport will be sufficient to prove this.

5) Pussy's Passport: You now need to obtain an official Ukrainian Veterinary Certificate.

6) Book moggy through an 'approved' transport, on an 'authorised' route. Puss & Boots must enter the United Kingdom via an approved route, aboard, the 'approved' transportation company.

After reading all of this I can imagine what your first reaction must be! I know some people who have been so shocked they made the foolish and dangerous decision that they'd just play 'dumb,' and 'hide' moggy in the boot. Tragically, the former Soviet country they transited dealt with the matter in an expedient and nonchalant manner. The border guard simply shot the traumatised family's cat, then shouted "Nici o problema acum!" (now, no problem!) The wife, husband, and eleven year-old daughter were then held in a cell until the morning, where they were ...er...um... 'encouraged' to resolve the matter there and then, rather than standing before the local magistrate, where fines and punitive adjudication would afford them the opportunity of visiting a former Soviet gaol! The family ended up paying $100 to the corrupt officials and faced years of dealing with their child's trauma of seeing her beloved kitty's head being shot off.
