How long do you have to go to college to become a gynecologist?

You need 4 years of college and then you need to apply to medical school and get accepted. Medical school is 4 years. Then you apply to a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and after acceptance, there is an additional 4 years of specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Some will also sub-specialize after this (gynecologic surgery, for example) after that (apply again); this is called a fellowship and can last from 1 to 3 more years.
