What are some of the advantages of imperialism?

The invaders and controllers of country's made a lot of money. Other then that there were none. NOTE: To the person who answered this before me, you can't honestly say that there were no positive results of Imperialism. The spread of Democracy through US imperialism can be considered a positive result, and the Philippines actually progressed socially because of our involvement. Just because people may not realize it, doesn't mean that imperialism can't be good.
