What is the age of Mercury 60. 6 HP twin boat motor Serial 1488122?

My manual is from 1965 and the 1965 Model 60 6.0 hp starts at 1745521. Based on the starts for each following year the motor should be prior to 1965 and probably 2 to 5 years earlier.
