Why are travel services so expensive?

Travel services are so expensive because the travel agent is doing most of the work in planning a vacation or other outing. The agent is responsible for making flight plans, hotel reservations, and in some cases, planning out events for one to enjoy. In some cases it is better for someone to do this themselves, however if traveling to an unfamiliar place, then a travel agent may be the best option.
